Peaceful in Stockholm

Eco. That's the first thing popping into my head after exploring downtown in magical, but in a misterious ratler than obvious sort of way, Stockholm. Among the already widely known trademarks I've spotted boundless shops offering top quality clothes, accessories and cosmetics the labels of which I would usually be indifferent to. Scrutinising the craftsmanship plus endless lists of ingredients I can respectfully say: well done, Sweden! You know what works best for you and you take care of your people. Actually, people themselves know how to take care of their wellbeing: for instance they are riding bikes notwithstanding the dress code nor the aura outside. I myself love bikes and I did owe one which was like a baby to me - dating back to the times I was living in Poland. The times have changed recently, I live in Dubai now and although my baby has a new owner now it is still within the same family. I'm just wondering, would it be possible to bike in the desert sometime, winter, maybe... As for Sweden, I did spent some serene, peaceful time and bought myself one exceptionally good moisturiser of premium natural ingredients. This city though, the views, it just feels like there is something else going on inside these magnificent buildings. The outside is still just peace and quiet.

Moskwa

Smoothie in one hand, iPad in the other, my morning routines are almost complete execpt for one thing, dressing up. Actually, I've jumped into my pyjamas straight after a well deserved morning shower. The reasons behind being the prolonged duty hours flying from Moscow last night. Let's just say I myself have done this to my very self. Leaving the embarrassing part behind, let us move on to my lovely staying in Moscow. Red square is off the list now, but there is no list whatsoever - just saying. The best thing happened to me though, a discovery, a secret revealed, that I actually do speak Russian a little bit and I do communicate pretty well with Russian people. Brought up in the East of Poland and with a tad of self-motivation as well as the phonetic proximity of our languages, I suddenly ended up speaking Russian in no time. On top of that, however, there is the temptation to discover the unknown alphabet which, I must admit, is becoming more and more familliar to me these days. Plus, intonation-wise, watching hilarious animated movies in the target language while in the gym helps plenty! Having said this lot, I'll just leave you with some snaps from freezing Moscow. The cold permeated my whole body in as little as ten minutes while taking these so forgive my weird face expressions. To my defence, the amplitude of temperatuses between Dubai and Moscow has reached almost 50 degrees!
Thank you for reading and keep posted!

Guangzhou casual weekend trip

So this weekend I was taken Southeast. Guangzhou, China, is a populous place where you can allegedly buy any counterfeit leather item you can think of. However, since the rule: the less the better has somehow been implemented in all imaginable life spheres of mine I opted for exploring a supermarket for seaweed and wasabi rather than cluttering my already too tiny wardrobe. The hotel was impeccable - great facilities, super cute gym which I managed to use twice during my 24 hour stay (did I tell you I'm a freak?), nice pool and golden concierge with a well known literary motif in the background. And of course the cherry on top: kingsize bed, too comfy to get out of...

The mall

Just some shots from a random shopping mall you can find in Dubai. Actually, this mall is quite unusual comparing to other shopping centres in Dubai where there is mainly chain stores around. Instead, you can explore Arabic stores freelancing through the golden corridors, as the Wafi mall is, surprisingly, not busy at all! Malls aside, you can also find some magic in eternally crowded places. Looking up while exploring Downtown Dubai you will find her majesty Burj Khalifa and the beautiful fountains on the side, the compilation of which will leave you speechless especially when accompanied by the goose bumps eliciting music. Simply put, the glamour in Dubai is to be observed effortlessly but can be either prompted or diminished by one's perception which, in my case, is a pink glasses filter.

Maybe I'll come home

"And meet me there, bundles of flowers,
We wait through the hours of clod
Winter shall howl at the walls,
Tearing down doors of time.

Shelter as we go...

And promise me this:
You'll wait for me only,
Scared of the lonely arms.

Surface, far below these words

And maybe, just maybe I'll come home

Who am I, darling to you?
Who am I?
Gonna tell you stories of mine
Who am I?

Who am I, darling for you?
Who am I?
Gonna be a burden in time, lonely
Who am I, to you?

Who am I, darling for you?
Who am I?
Going to be a burden

Who am I, darling to you?
Who am I?"

One year later in Birmingham

My last visit to Birmingham was during the UK BBoy championship about a year ago. This time though, although I've found myself in the very same postindustrial city, now I found it utterly interesting and freakishly beautiful. However, bare in mind that I didn't take my camera with me which might be the main reason for this irresistible urge to photograph every single building. Also, what might sound mundane for most of you, and I'm talking the serenade of colourful leaves falling from the trees, I found these very unique since none a single leave would drop from the consistently watered palm trees in Dubai. So there I sat, at the fire assembly point, in the serenity of the sunny afternoon, sipping fresh regular carrot-ginger juice with my take-away dinner scattered somewhere on the grass along with me. Apart from the uplifting stuff, the shopping has been pretty awesome as well. It was just the right time and place to spoil myself a little bit as befits the oncoming occasion. Birthday on board? Why not!
